A classy, consistent footballer, Noovao captained the Colts in 1995 and played anywhere from halfback to center. He proved that he was even more versatile in 1996, making the transition into the forwards at times and showing good form at hooker when required.
A capable left-footed goalkicker, Meti was a Cook Islands representative at the 1995 World Cup. He played his only game for the Warriors in 1997. He moved on to the Adelaide Rams where he again only played one game. He then played for the Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Cup before returning home and playing for the Otahuhu Leopards in the Bartercard Cup.
Meti is the brother of former New Zealand netball captain Anna Noovao.
These days Noovao is living in Avarua, Rarotonga and owns a vehicle rental company in the area.
